Star Trek, Star Wars or both?

RebelForce Radio have released the latest episode of their podcast.  One of the topics they tackle this week is why Star Wars is better than Star Trek.  What do you think?  Do you agree with the duo?  Or are you in the other camp?  Perhaps you're split right down the middle.  Let us know what you think. Just for the record with my thoughts, I'm split.  Its like asking me which is better?  A good curry or a good beer?  I need both in my life and they compliment each other quite nicely. John Noble Confesses He Would Love To Do Star Wars

Fringe star John Noble who played the most excellent Walter Bishop has told IGN he would love to do Star Wars with J.J. Abrams. The australian said: "I'd love to do Star Wars. That would just be epic doing something like that. And it's not beyond the realm of possibility. "I have a terrific relationship with JJ Abrams and Bad Robot, I really do. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility. It's a while away yet." He said: "Well, I mean Star Wars. If you're going to do one, do Star Wars. I mean seriously, if you're going to pick one to do, do that one. "Because that's basically a cultural revolution. It reset pop culture in some ways. So if I had to choose one, it would be that one." I for one would love to see Bishop I mean Noble in the new movie. He is a top notch actor and if he performs anything like he did in Fringe we would be in for a treat Rob @welshslider

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic Is Now Out On Ipad

One of the best Star Wars games of the 21st century, Knights Of The Old Republic is now available for Ipad owners.  The classic 2003 game from Bioware can now be played on the move.  IGN have reviewed the game and given it a rather healthy 8.8 saying the game is perfect for the tablet with its pause and command gameplay although it was let down by the touch screen movement which always seems to be a problem for these typs of games on tablets and smart phones. John Williams On Man Of Steel: "Hard Not Seeing Christopher Reeve"

John Williams has no issues whatsoever in the new Superman movie called Man Of Steel having a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. But he has said watching a Superman movie without the late and great Christopher Reeve will be hard. In an interview with Zap2it the composer said: "It puts me in mind of the late Chris Reeve, who we all loved so much. It's going to be hard for me not to let go of the music, but to let go of the idea of Superman being Chris." "I thought he not only made that project successful, he embodied what all of us imagine Superman to look like if he could be given skin and bone, I think," he added. He went on to say that he doesn't know if the film will use his score: "I haven't seen it, but I'm sure it will be wonderful. I don't know if they've used any of the original music or not; it's a Warner Bros film, in which case, they certainly have the right to do so. "I hope it will be successful, and I look forward to

Star Wars Prequels Mapped Out In 1981.

Every Star Wars fan under this sun is looking forward to J.W. Rinzler's next installment in his making of Star Wars books.  The Making Of Return Of The Jedi is out in September.  In the mean time the writer has released this quote from George Lucas which was taken from a conference call in 1981.  It shows an interesting insight into the Star Wars director and creator along with Lawrence Kasdan and how he had ideas for the Prequels, even back then. “Well, anyway, Luke’s father gets subverted by the Emperor. He gets a little weird at home and his wife begins to figure out that things are going wrong and she confides in Ben, who is his mentor. On his missions through the galaxies, Anakin has been going off doing his Jedi thing and a lot of Jedi have been getting killed—and it’s because they turn their back on him and he cuts them down. The president is turning into an Emperor and Luke’s mother suspects that something has happened to her husband. She is pregnant. Anakin gets wors

Short Round Has Two Pages In the Infamous Diary Of Indiana Jones

I was browsing through the famous diary of Indiana Jones, or specifically his dad, Henry. You know, the one with some pages torn out. Well I came across these two pages which are rather cute. It seems Short Round must have got hold of the diary at some point (I don't know how) and used two pages to give his interpretation of The Temple Of Doom. Rob @welshslider

Return Of The Jedi - My Memories From 1983

A Retrospective Look Back At Return of the Jedi I was lucky enough (and old enough) to have seen Return Of The Jedi at the cinema in 1983. I was the perfect age, eleven years old. I was already a huge Star Wars fan thanks to the first two movies, but for some reason I was really sucked into the hype of the third Star Wars. There seemed to be more TV appearances from the cast of Jedi on our stations (all four of them here in the UK), of which I tried to catch, or at least record on my very own video tape to watch later. The movie trailer seemed to play more than ever on TV, and newspapers were doing Return Of The Jedi pull out specials. I was already spending all my pocket money on the stickers for my Return Of The Jedi sticker album, (I never got it complete.) and collecting all the Kenner figures and vehicles. So you can see why I was so hyped up for the third movie. The day arrived where I was off to the cinema with a friend and after queueing for two hours at the local

George Lucas To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award From SFMOMA

San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art are to present George Lucas with a lifetime achievement award.  The award will be given to the Star Wars creator in October this year.  Seems the retired director has got a busy year ahead of him with a wedding and now this. San Francisco’s foremost art museum is doing its best to get on a likely competitor’s good side. At an October 24 dinner ceremony SFMOMA will give George Lucas — whose plan to build the billion-dollar Lucas Cultural Arts Museum celebrating “the art of storytelling” in the city’s Presidio Park is one of three shortlisted proposals — its 2013 Bay Area Treasure Award. The prize, which is bestowed annually by SFMOMA’s foremost fund-raising affiliate, the Modern Art Council (MAC), recognizes visual art pioneers based in the Bay Area. Lucas will be the Award’s 14th recipient, joining esteemed forbears including installation and conceptual light artist Jim Campbell, painters Wayne Thiebaud, and William T. Wiley, large-scale steel

Sam Neill Says Jurassic Park 4 is a Reboot.

Sam Neill who played Dr Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg's 1993 Jurassic Park thinks that Jurassic Park 4 will be a reboot.  To quote Darth Vader in Revenge Of The Sith "NOOOOOOOO!" Neill was quoted in an interview with Stuff.co.nz when asked about JP4: "I'm told it's a big reboot, a totalre-jig." Neill did confess that he hasn't seen anything on the "reboot" yet. If this is true then this puts a whole damper on Jurassic Park 4.  Rebooting the original is like someone deciding to reboot Jaws or Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Please don't.  Leave it alone. Guest Post:Star Trek Into Darkness Review By Chris Hewer

There may be a few spoilers in the following review. Four years ago, a new generation of fans were introduced to the world of Star Trek. Some in our own world had never known of Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the crew of the Starship Enterprise before J.J. Abrams interpretation of Star Trek was released. Some of us remembered it well before this and in many different forms. But one thing is certain when it comes to JJ Abrams' Star Trek re-boot, and that is that it did exactly the same as Gene Roddenberry's original 1966 version in that it brought generations together and transported them into the fictional future adventures of mankind. As a result of the Star Trek movie, a sequel was always going to be on the cards... STAR TREK : INTO DARKNESS It was Thursday 9th May 2013, at Vue Cinema, Cwmbran and one of the first screenings in the UK of Star Trek - Into Darkness, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2009 hit blockbuster movie. I had been looking forward to this for a very long t
